Samsung has announced Galaxy Z Fold2 with a new hinge mechanism, which have they called, hideway hinge. Last year’s Galaxy Z Fold was the first experiment by Samsung of Foldable display smartphones. And it went not as Samsung expected. But this year the Korean giant has mitigate this problem by a new mechanism, that cleans the debris itself.
The Galaxy Z Fold2 features a 6.23 inches super AMOLED external display with HD+ resolution, and aspect ratio of 25:9. On the external display, it has a 10MP f/2.2 selfie sensor. And the inner display is a 7.6 inches foldable dynamic AMOLED with 120Hz and QHD+ resolution plus HDR10+ as well. The inner display also has a 10MP selfie sensor too.
Samsung has created a new hinge this year to diminish all dust and angle issues users faced last year. They have called it a hideway hinge, a hinge that can be move and open at any angle unlike the last year’s. This hinge also has a self-cleaning mechanism as well. According to Samsung, this hinge will perform far better without any kind of worries.
Galaxy Z Fold2 features the Snapdragon 865+ chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. It runs on Android 10 OS, on top of One UI 2.5 skin. Has a side mounted fingerprint reader as well. It packs dual batteries which have a total capacity of 4500mAh with 25W fast charging, 11W wireless charging and 4.5W of reverse wireless charging.
The Galaxy Z Fold2 is rocking a triple camera setup on the back of the phone, main camera has a 12MP f/1.8 sensor with Dual Pixel AF, a 2x optical telephoto lens with also a 12MP sensor and f/2.4 aperture, and last but not the least, a 12MP ultra-wide lens with 123 degree FOV. It can shoot video 4K max at 60fps, 1080p up to 240fps and 720p up to 960 fps.
The Galaxy Z Fold2 will retail at ($1,999) for 256GB version.
