Apple has released the iPhone 12 family. We got everything official now. And these are the first phones with 5G. This time both phones got bigger displays as compared to iPhone 11 series. The Pro Max version has a 6.7″ display while the non Pro features a 6.1″ display. The notch size is same, there’s no change in it. Both phones have a 12MP selfie camera too. Overall the design language of the 12 Pro series is adopted by iPhone 5 series, as it has a flat design instead of curves.
The internals are the new Apple A14 Bionic, the first 5nm chipset in the world. It is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128/256/512GB of NVMe storage. Yes, we have got a 128GB baseline storage this year. According to Apple, it is the fastest chipset in any smartphone. It comes with the latest iOS 14. We don’t have the official battery capacity yet, but it comes with a 20W fast wired charging and 15W wireless charging with a unique magnet mechanism named as MagSafe.
Apple has improved camera system on the Pro’s this year, both has a triple camera setup. But, there is a difference in optical zoom and the main sensor size on the Pro Max. The 12 Pro has a 12MP main sensor with f/1.6 and 1.4 microns, while Pro Max also has a 12MP sensor but with bigger 1.7 microns pixels. Both have the same 12MP ultra-wide sensor with 120 degree field of view. The telephoto camera also has a 12MP sensor, but the 12 Pro has a 2x optical zoom whereas the Pro Max has a 2.5x zoom.
Apple has integrated deep fusion and night mode on all cameras including selfie as well. The video capability also been upgraded this year with 10‑bit HDR, Dolby Vision HDR (up to 4K 60fps), stereo sound recording.
The iPhone 12 Pro will cost $1,000 and will be up on pre-order this Friday and available next week. The iPhone 12 Pro Max will start at $1,100 and will be available to book on November 6 with sales starting a week later November 13.
